How many other 24/7 locksmiths are out there and what are they really doing? Let’s put some light on it to have it all a bit more clear.

We will get to clients and hear that they called tens of other 24/7 services and no one picked up the phone. Some will answer and quote high prices to preform the work needed. This we can understand.
We do not support or charge ridiculous prices for late night work. However, it is a demanding task and prices are accordingly. You can not call in any trade person late at night and expect business hours pricing. The employee is payed overtime rates and has to be available and payed hours and nights before he get a call out. Your job at the middle of the night might be the only job the business will take the whole week. However, the on call locksmith will be paid hourly rate even if he will not be called out. It is important to ask for prices before you book so that you will not get a surprise in form of high charges. but you should also expect higher rates over night then the rates you will pay during business hours.
What do we actually do on late lights call outs? Most people assume we mainly deal with drunk people. This is far from the truth. The other night we received a call on Sunday 3:23AM from a young lady that her coat was stolen from a club in Amsterdam Zuid. Her house keys were in her pocket. We had to get there and get her back inside fast as she were already pretty shaken by the experience. Another lady called after an episode of domestic abuse and had the urgent need to change her locks early morning on Friday to secure her own safety. Another case was of a family coming back from overseas just to discover that their home was broken into. We had, again, to change the locks as the thief stolen a pair of keys that they left in the house. Another Amsterdam classic example is of a young man that he’d his bicycle stolen when he left their key in the bicycle lock. On the key ring he had his apartment key and we had to get to his property on 2:00AM to get him into his home and secure the door with a new cylinder installed.

Second, prices will be more expensive of your expected business hours rates. Third, you should choose a locksmith with fast response. A reliable and professional locksmith brand.
